Yannick Ngakoue signs rookie deal, 2016 class fully signed

The Jaguars' 3rd round draft pick, pass-rushing specialist Yannick Ngakoue (en-GAH-kway), has officially signed his rookie deal. The 69th overall pick was the last of the Jaguars' 2016 selections to sign his deal.

Ngakoue played his college ball at Maryland, amassing 13.5 sacks last year. In his 3 years at Maryland, Ngakoue totaled 21.5 sacks, 88 tackles, with 33 being for a loss. The edge rusher played high school ball in Washington, D.C., and was graded a 4-star inside linebacker prospect. Fellow draft pick and now teammate, Myles Jack, was ranked 8 spots higher than Ngakoue coming out of college.

A lot can be said about this guy's motor and character. He possess the athletic ability and production that teams like, but is a tad small for his position. Ngakoue is expected to compete with Dante Fowler for first-team LEO reps. Even if he doesn't win the starting position, you can expect to see a lot of Ngakoue during his rookie year.

Ngakoue wraps up the draft class signings: corner back Jalen Ramsey, 1st round; linebacker Myles Jack, 2nd round; defensive lineman Sheldon Day, 4th round; quarterback Brandon Allen, 6th round; linebacker Tyrone Holmes, 6th round; defensive lineman Jonathan Woodard, 7th round.
