Myles Jack returns for mini-camp

Myles Jack, the Jaguars second round draft pick this year, has finally been cleared to practice with the team. Jack was present for today's first day of mandatory mini-camp. He was originally viewed as a top 5 pick in the NFL draft, but days before the draft he had told teams that he could possibly require micro-fracture surgery. Thankfully, that doesn't seem to be the case, as doctors only told him it was precautionary. However, they informed him the day after the draft where Jack lost millions of dollars in contract money.

Jack came from UCLA, and mostly played linebacker. During his freshman season, Jack played running back for the Bruins as well, and a little bit of defensive back throughout the remainder of his collegiate career. Last year, Jack tore his meniscus during practice; the injury cost him the rest of the season.

Jack was mostly seen working with the 2nd team defense as the Mike (middle) linebacker. He should push Paul Pozluszny for the starting role, and may wind up taking over towards the end of the season anyways. Jack has a ton of potential, and barring a devastating knee injury, we should see a lot of big plays from this kid.
